Message
I spent 12 years at my previous patent firm assisting patent attorneys across a fairly wide range of technical fields, and I have the stamina built up through sport. At IPX I am picking up new technologies so that I can contribute more to clients.

At university and graduate school I researched autonomous driving for agricultural machinery. I fitted a camera and a laptop to a tractor with an automatic steering mechanism and wrote a program that calculated the distance and heading relative to the crop rows in a field from the video, and decided the steering angle from that.
After graduating I spent 11 years in technical sales at IBM Japan. Listening to customer requirements and proposing combinations of our own hardware, software and solutions gave me broad knowledge of IT and the ability to get to the point of a problem.
I then spent 12 years as a patent engineer at a Japanese patent firm. I worked mainly on mechanical and IT technologies, and also on musical instruments, beauty and sports equipment, construction and business models. My strength is capturing the core of an invention, developing variations of it by imagining a range of use scenarios, and pulling diverse ideas together. I also worked on speeding up document drafting, using a gaming mouse for fast editing. At IPX I am working on making it faster still.
