Full profile
Handled a wide range of work in a corporate IP department: filing, prosecution, licensing, disputes, searches and analysis, and strategy. While in the IP department, filed 8 patents as an inventor. For one of them, was the first-named inventor on the UI of a product for a new business.
Then moved to a patent firm and built experience in drafting specifications. Strong in foreign cases, with practice in the United States, China, Europe, Korea and Taiwan, as well as ASEAN, India and Russia. Studied in Germany and learned European IP practice at a local firm. After founding the firm, handled many IT cases, with particular strength in business models and UI/UX. Draws on the ability to extract and create inventions honed in the corporate IP department, and is skilled at flexible advice that fits the client's situation.
In 2020, won the software division of the 2nd "Iron Chef of Patents": Claim Drafting Time Battle, and received the Encouragement Prize in the IP Professional Category of the 1st IP BASE AWARD. Also published Commentary on the 2019 amended Design Act and an introduction to practical techniques for using newly protected designs through Keizai Sangyo Chosakai.
