I believe that a patent is not simply something to obtain, but something whose value lies in how well it can be used. Keeping your business and the work ahead of it in view, I want to keep improving so that I can propose rights that carry real value.

At university I belonged to a catalytic chemistry laboratory in the Department of Applied Chemistry, but I was drawn to biochemistry and biotechnology, so in graduate school I moved to a food chemistry laboratory.
At the food manufacturer I joined as a new graduate, I worked in basic research, then moved to the patent department, where I handled invention mining, patent filings, prosecution and various patent and literature searches. After that I worked on household product development, and later in the corporate planning department and the CSR promotion department.
While in the patent department, I took part in the 7th term of the IIP IP Juku run by the Institute of Intellectual Property, studying “improving patent quality to strengthen Japan's industrial competitiveness”. It led me to the view that improving patent quality requires business strategy, development strategy and IP strategy to work together.
After that, wanting to be able to make proposals that serve management decisions and the direction of an organization on the basis of patent and literature searches, I trained in the 3i Study Group run by the Information Science and Technology Association (2013-2015 and 2021) and in BUILD run by Tech Consilie Inc. (2020).
I aim to propose ways of turning your invention into a patent right that carries value in your business.
