An ongoing consultation allowance, building and running your IP structure, and regular reviews. We respond quickly by chat and video call. Companies that wish to may state on their own site that they have an IP counsel (patent attorney).

Time beyond the allowance is charged hourly. A pre-filing search normally costs ¥180,000 (¥198,000 incl. tax) and is available on Gold and above. Travel costs are charged separately when a trip to a distant location is required. Fees and hours are subject to revision.

What the retainer covers

The monthly hours can go to filing strategy, to brand or DX questions, or to designing the business as a whole. Use them for whatever that month needs.

* Preparing and filing documents with the Japan Patent Office (patent applications, responses to office actions and the like) is outside the retainer. We take those on as separate requests.
