CHEMISTRY
We design with you from the experiment planning stage.
From inorganic and organic chemistry to materials and processes, and on to chemical inventions that use AI. We design the balance between the depth of the working examples and the scope of the rights with you, starting at the experiment planning stage.

We do not take on biotechnology matters at present. We plan to build the capability for it in the future.
Our Approach
What matters when securing rights in this field
POINT 01
Define the molecular structure “structurally”
The conventional way of defining a molecular structure by chemical formula makes enforcement hard: the registered right may cover elements that are not needed, or another molecular structure with the same properties may appear. IPX worked out a “structural” way of claiming that identifies only the essential part by which a compound achieves its function and generalizes it. We protect the essence that produces the property, broadly.
POINT 02
Design for the support requirement from the experiment plan
A structural claim needs the specification to carry data that show objectively that the problem is solved, together with the reasoning for why the effect holds even when the structure differs. That is why there is value in being involved when the experimental data are designed, not when the application is drafted.
POINT 03
Multiplied by software knowledge
Most of IPX's new matters are software inventions. Multiplying what we learn there into chemistry, we are strong in chemical inventions that use AI and in the border between medicine and software, such as therapeutic apps (DTx).
