- Experience in an in-house IP department, with an understanding of the business side
- Academic careers with a doctoral degree and advanced technical knowledge
- Members who entered the IP industry early, straight out of university or soon after
- Members who hold several national qualifications in addition to being a patent attorney: Certified Specialist of Intellectual Property Management, Level 1, pharmacist, childcare worker, and more
- Three or more languages, handled by language professionals on the team
- Members from other industries, including work at Disney World in the United States
- Members from outside Japan, and others
