At Hokkaido University I built a broad grounding in ecology, genetics, neuroethology and molecular biology. In the laboratory I studied asymmetric division of plant stem cells, to better understand how the bodies of multicellular organisms such as ourselves are formed. I also worked hard on English, largely self-taught.

At a patent firm in Tokyo I mainly handled domestic and foreign prosecution for mechanical and software applications, and Japanese-to-English translation. I read the applications and the cited references closely and worked to propose better amendments and translations.

My strength is that even for technology outside the fields I studied, I work to understand it myself, face the problem earnestly, and aim to acquire broad knowledge. I keep training so that I can look at an invention from many angles and make proposals of high quality.
